WELCOME AT
KLAKA RAUSCHER

As a specialised boutique law firm, we work exclusively in intellectual property law and related areas such as unfair competition law. Our particular expertise lies in trademark and design law.

We are experts for trademark and design law.

We are passionate about brands and designs – in all their facets. We protect and defend them effectively and sustainably. From development and securing rights to legal enforcement.

Our focus is international. We are based in Munich, but we are at home throughout the world thanks to our established network of foreign law firms. Trademark applications in Uganda, cancellation proceedings in India and opposition proceedings in Brazil are just as much a part of our repertoire as infringement proceedings in Spain and UDRP proceedings at WIPO.

Our client structure is as diverse as the range of services we offer. It ranges from small businesses to large international corporations, but also includes sports associations, professional chambers and the public sector. More than 40 industries are represented.

Legal consultancy

We advise our clients on all matters relating to trademark and design law. Whether it’s securing new product names and designs, finding a name for a start-up, licensing agreements or intellectual property transactions, we are the right people to talk to.

Enforcement and defence

We effectively combat trademark and design infringements. We defend our clients against attacks based on trademark, design or competition law. If necessary, we will also do so in court and through the courts.

IP management and administration

We don’t just file for trademark and designs registrations, we also manage intellectual property rights from development and application to registration and beyond – both nationally and globally.

Rooted in tradition, committed to the future.

The firm was founded in 1979, but its roots go back another hundred years: In 1951, Rainer Klaka joined the Munich law firm run by Dr. Carl Schramm, which had existed since 1879. Even then, it was focused on intellectual property law. At the end of the 1970s, the Klaka & Partner law firm split off and developed into a specialized boutique firm that soon became an established player among German IP law firms.

When Rainer Klaka passed away in 2001, “KLAKA” had long since matured into a brand.

Twenty-five years later, the law firm, which has been operating as a partnership mbB since 2015, is receiving new impetus and a breath of fresh air: We are amending the name to reflect changes in the partnership structure and are focusing on the field of soft IP.

Being able to continue the tradition established by Rainer Klaka in a modern guise is an honor, an obligation, and an incentive for us.
